Information used on your device

You can select an airport manually. If you grant foreground location permission, Lounge Trail uses your current location to suggest a nearby airport, estimate walking distance, and provide supported navigation features. Ordinary foreground location lookups are processed by the app and are not uploaded as part of normal lounge browsing.

Your selected airport, terminal, favorite airports, access programs, eligibility filter, and sorting preferences are stored locally on your device. Lounge Trail does not require a name, email address, password, or user account.

Optional community map contributions

Community map contributions are off by default and require a separate, explicit choice. During an active walking visit, Lounge Trail may collect precise foreground location points, accuracy, timestamps, airport and terminal, selected floor, and map feedback. Collection stops when the visit ends, the app leaves the foreground, you leave the airport area, or the session expires.

Submitted points are associated with a pseudonymous installation credential so the service can prevent duplicate submissions, validate contributions, and award contributor points. If you separately opt into the public leaderboard and choose a display name, the service stores that display name with the same installation credential, so your contributions and reward totals can be linked to that display name. Lounge Trail does not require an email address. Raw accepted walking contributions are retained for up to 14 days while paths are validated and aggregated. Published aggregate map geometry may remain longer because it no longer represents one traveler’s route. You can discard an active visit or delete unsent contributions from the app’s community-map controls.

Lounge corrections and community features

If you report a lounge change, Lounge Trail receives the lounge, issue type, proposed correction, optional note, timestamps, and a pseudonymous installation credential. Reports are used to review and improve public lounge information and may be retained as operational evidence for catalog changes. The leaderboard is optional. If you join it, your chosen display name, rank, and points are public, and the service links that profile to your installation credential. You can edit the display name or leave the leaderboard; leaving removes the public contributor profile.

Security and service operations

Lounge Trail uses signed installation credentials and limited request information to prevent abuse, enforce one-installation contribution rules, and protect community data. Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Service providers that host the app and API may process technical request information as needed to operate and secure the service.

Your choices

• Use manual airport selection instead of location permission.
• Turn community contributions off at any time.
• Discard an active visit or delete contributions that have not been sent.
• Edit your public leaderboard display name or leave the leaderboard to remove the public contributor profile.
• Change or clear app preferences by changing settings or removing the app.
• Request help with contributor-linked records by emailing support. We may need information from the installation to verify the request.

Children

Lounge Trail is a general travel utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly request a child’s legal name, contact details, or account information. An optional leaderboard participant may choose a public display name.

Policy changes

We may update this policy when the app’s features or legal requirements change. The effective date above will identify the current version.
